STORY / GAMEPLAY The towns and villages of Transylvania are now living in fear and facing their worst nightmares as the demonic Count Dracula sweeps his evil hands all over the -once peaceful- land. The evil Count, kills and imprisons innocent people to satisfy his eternal thirst for blood. You, as the mighty hero named Richter Belmont, must use your powers and your flail weapon to fight against all the night creatures and undead beings the Count unleashed to kill you, until you finally reach the castle and confront Dracula himself to take your revenge for all the evil and chaos he caused. You must also break various items (like candles) to gain an extra heart for your overall energy level. Note, though, that this quest against this immortal creature is extremely tough since Vampire's Kiss (and actually all Castlevania games) is many times frustratingly difficult to play. GRAPHICS / SOUND This Castlevania installment for the SNES offers wonderful and colorful background graphics, some nice background effects (like fire-blazes, rainfalls and more), a variety of differently styled enemies plus an awesome, arcade-style music score along with digitized sound effects. Vampire's Kiss is among the best Castlevania 2D games to date. | |
